Vermilion cotton blouse. In contrast to the flat back, the front of the blouse is delicately worked. Lying pleats punctuate the blouse's full height and width. They are held in place by three lines of beige smocking, right down to the bust. From the last line onwards, the pleats are free and full. The scalloped collar around the round neckline is crocheted and embroidered with bunches of vermilion-red cherries. The sleeves are long and tightened by a fine buttoned cuff at the wrists. The blouse opens all the way down the back and, like the cuffs, closes with natural mother-of-pearl buttons. This is a brightly colored blouse to wear on gray days.
